I think everything said made a lot of sense. But, what about this? suppose you were to create a killer headline? I mean, I don't want to tell you how to run your website, but suppose you added a post title to possibly get people's attention? I mean Post new topic / forum is kinda boring. You could look at Yahoo's home page and see how they create post titles to grab viewers to open the links. You might add a related video or a related picture or two to get people excited about everything've got to say. In my opinion, it would make your posts a little bit more interesting.
