Utti Jaeger Regiment will lead a global Special Operations Forces coaching exercise throughout 25 August - 12 September 2025. The exercise will develop the combined joint working functionality of Special Forces of the Alliance’s member nations in Northern Europe’s circumstances. Joint Operating Procedures Ensuring the capability for Combined Joint Operating: The objective of SOUTHERN GRIFFIN 25 is to reinforce mixed joint operating, interoperability and connectivity of the Finnish Defence Forces’ Special Operations Forces and Special Operations Aviation with allied nations and agency models. Exercise SOUTHERN GRIFFIN 25 to develop combined joint operating capability of Special Operations Forces of the Alliance’s member nations. STDT25 will deal with the planning and execution of a pre-disaster multi-domain activity, the intention to reinforce the allied forces positioned in Romania and Bulgaria. The workouts will see the UK Armed Forces join hundreds of personnel from ten NATO Allies, working throughout Romania and Bulgaria coinciding with the anniversary of Russia’s illegal full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The training viewers forces will function throughout Finland. Leading from the entrance, the UK is offering the biggest contribution of forces with over 2600 personnel, and 730 autos deploying to NATO’s japanese flank.
